Otoplasty – correction of protruding ears
Otoplasty is dedicated for children and adults. The reason of performing this procedure is the insufficiently developed ear shell.
From typical incision behind the ears , reduction of the excess cartilage is performing. Modelling the shape and correct position by special sutures applied inside the cartilage.
For the first months the most important is to protect the ears from any injures.
Before the surgery:
Basic blood tests: morphology, creatinine, blood coagulation index, prothrombin index
Type of anaesthesia: local
Recovery time: removal of the stitches after 7- 10 days from the treatment, swelling persist for few days, wearing special band for first 1 month.
Scars: behind the ears on the earlobes.
Patient after treatment doesn't need to stay overnight in the clinic.
